Thread: Axles

    Default Axles

My son was able to pick up a rear axle of a 2006 3500 and a front off a 2000 f250 for 700.

Both are in pretty good condition, so think we got a good deal.

The front axle is a dana 50, measuring it seems to be a good fit. We most likely widen the front spring mounts slightly.

Our question is on the dana 50, does anyone see this being a decent axle to use on the front?

It is a driver-side drop correct? Are you changing out the transfer case as well?
It will work on the front just fine, but not much stronger than a dana 44.

Yes, drivers side drop. We are planning to replace motor, transmission, and transfer case.
