Does anyone have a trick to fix a wonky fuel gauge? It sticks flat empty until I give it a one knuckle sandwich, then it flips to pegged at full. One or the other, that's it.

1968 M-715 w/1100R16s on Stockton wheels, H3 headlights, 2bbl upgrade...
First thing I would try is run a temporary ground wire from the gauge to a good confirmed ground, see how it acts then.
