Thread: Canadian Project M715... Eh!

Here’s the radiator I got. I drilled new holes in the truck radiator support to mount it, and I also cut out the angle braces off the frame to make it sit lower. I don’t have the hood on right now, but I took a few measurements and it seemed like it would sit too high using the factory holes. I cut some 1/4 rubber and used that as isolator pads between the radiator flange and rad support. It’s a nice piece, the only thing I’m unhappy with is the lower inlet it 1-1/2”. I would have liked 1-3/4” to match my water pump but I have a hose coming to make it work.

Yup, I put 3 courtesy lights under the dash. I plan to put in a door switch, likely only on the drivers side to save some headaches. They’re just clear 1” trailer marker lights that I got from Princess Auto!

I think I’ll go with the gladiator grille for now. Might mod the brush guard and add it down the road.

Wow! Thank you! I had already ordered a radiator and had to send it back because it did not fit. You just saved me a lot of trouble looking. Thank you.
And I like the lights under the dash. I want to do the same. Your truck is really stunning. Everywhere you go people will stop you to talk about it. Notes on your windshield wanting to buy it etc, Get ready for that.

Strange the site would not let me respond with quotes. Said my message was to short! I never seem to have that issue.

Thanks for the quick answer. I am headed right to Summit.

Thanks guys! I post progress in hopes that the little details that take so much time to figure out will help other people along, so it’s working!

Here’s a few more pics of how I mounted it. I went as low as I could go. I can just get my hand between the steering box and bottom of the rad. The drain is conveniently on the passenger side with clear access without anything around it.

Thank you! Pictures always help. So you mentioned cutting the braces out. It looks like the radiator sits below where they went through. I wonder if the radiator could be mounted higher without hitting the hood. I was hoping to save my braces for semi heavy winching. Maybe I could do another type of frame reinforcement. Again, thx for the pic's. Truck is sure nice to look at.

Alright, these seat brackets might be slightly over engineered, but hey, may as well match the rest of the truck, right? Lol.

Drivers side wasn’t too bad. I’ve got sliders on this side for seat adjustment (for when my daughters learn to drive stick one day!)

Passenger side was a bit of a ... No slider on this side (just like she came from the factory, lol)

A grinder and a can of paint makes me the welder I ain’t!

Fire extinguisher for a little throwback to the Norman County Volunteer Fire Dept where she spent some time after being discharged from the military (there was one there when I got it)

What did you use there for the door panel pins? Restoration Specialist nolonger carries the stock push pins.

I never even looked for the factory clips. I don’t like the way they work. I drilled out the holes and put 1/4” nut inserts in the doors and used 1/4” stainless button heads. Not stock, but I think it adds a nice touch that way.

I used the same button heads on the dash.
