Test drove the truck last night, she primed from a dry fuel system in about 15 seconds, the rebuilt pump works great. She started right up and drives great, at least down my short road, all the lights and gauges work, 4x4, cooling temp steady @ 160. Problem is I have a couple of class 3 oil leaks coming from the head/block seam and where the head meets the timing cover on the fuel pump side, looks like my best bet is to just replace the head gasket now rather than patch with rtv.

They are in excellent, 1973 condition. But they dipped them in paint and there are several areas with no paint. I have them drying outside after a respray with Rustoleum 7777 Satin Black. I just checked, I had bought 3/8" rod for the "J" bolts. I will have to go get some 5/16" rod. Easy to bend; easy to thread.
Thanks again! |

And on close examination, they have a left and right side! L, R stamped on the ends. Hanging from my technical paint fixture (saw horse
![]() I will go out and get some 5/16 rod from Home Depot today and bend and thread later this week. I may have to paint them also on my technical paint fixture! |

They do have an excellent shipping department, I never noticed a L/R I will have to look.
