Looks like ya already got some good info.
I wanted to add this odd fact to the collection.
The manufactures went cheap on the boards they used what I think was called finger joints some of the boards. Even on the seats. Dang I bet that would pinch ya something awful!
I will replace the original wood on mine one day. I will recess the carriage bolts and try to duplicate all dimensions as close as possible, but no but pinching finger joints.

    good luck with your project

    Luc,

My truck has the original troop seats in the back. If you feel up to making the trek to Cornwall you can get a close look at mine and take whatever measurements you'd like.

A couple of the boys in Montreal have the wood seats as well so they'd be a little closer still.

    Let me know.

Hate to bring the sore subject up of Troop seats again, but do we have a Carriage bolt size needed for attaching the wood onto the metal? someone said you need 12. is that just for the lower seat area? I'm thinking that you need 6 more just for the 2 head rack boards. I've been reading these threads all day so I'm sure I missed it somewhere. Thanks

We never get tired of the same old questions.

The carriage bolts are 5/16"-18 and are 1 1/4" long.
8 are need per side, for the top two slats.

I could make a comprehensive hardware list with dimensions (and pictures) for seats, staves, and bows.
If good enough, maybe it could be posted as a "sticky" .

You can go to Lowes and get those carriage bolts. Whilst I have all of my original bolts, it didn't take me long to figure out that new ones were much cheaper than my labour.

    Lowes, $14.99 for 100 ea.

The M-715's only had the rings in the rear. I picked up an original set of seats not too long ago but it had cedar slats that were the wrong dimension. So I burned them in my campfire.

I picked up a set of 2.5 ton seats that I am robbing the wood from. Soon I will have a set of hardware and even the metal bow corners to sell. First I have a lot of nuts to cut off since 90% are rusted on the carriage bolt. Thus all the carriage bolts spin in the wood!!!
