    Default M715 frame weight?

Does anyone know the weight of a bare M715 frame?

    Thanks, Steve Seddon

Hmm....6 of us carried a frame with the springs on it around my lot and put it in the shop. It was not pleasant. Never thought of trying to actually weigh it at the time...

4 of us picked up a frame and loaded it on a trailer...I would bet in the 500-600 pound range.

What do the springs weigh each? I was guessing at least 1100lbs with them(and the steering box and a few brake lines and the bumper loops, front bumper and little dangling craplike that).

I loaded a frame onto my trailer by myself. Leverage is your friend.

The springs are 80-100 pounds depending on which end...guessing but close...

Thanks for the responses, the reason I ask is because I have my frame on a rotisserie right now and am preparing it to be hot galvanized. The plating shop requires the weight for proper billing.

400lbs of springs, couple hundred pounds of bumpers and bits, 600lbs of truly bare frame...sounds about right for what we carried. I'd tell 'em 500lbs if it's truly stripped of everything. Close enough to be fair.

Well I got the frame done and it turned out beautiful. Just to let you all know the galvanizing shop weighed it and it is only 450 pounds. I really thought it would be heavier than that.
