looks like i sweet project, and i am looking forward to more updates. BTW i can pm you an address to send that welder to if you want to get rid of it.
Honestly do not even know specifics on the box other than that it's a chev that was supposedly rebuilt and is setup for crossover steering. I had my dad deal with the transaction so I have not even seen it yet. I plan on running a high-steering kit with crossover though so I am hoping it will work out for me.

And despite how tempting your offer is I think I will keep the welder for now at least...

Hey all, I got started in on the truck yesterday. I'm hoping to pull the bed today but we are having intermittent thunderstorms....

The only pics I really have are of my tires. I got wheels for them and had them mounted and balanced yesterday. That set me back 80 bucks out the door so I was very happy about that.

It's been raining on and off here. But we were able to get the bed and rear axle pulled. Need to run some errands but will hopefully clean up the rear and cut off all the old brackets and what not afterwards. Axle bushings/parts come monday so I hopefully can have her sitting on her own feet again by tuesday maybe?

Cut off some more mounts/brackets and started prepping the rebuilt 70 for installation.

Was wondering though, what is the easiest way to remove the front clip in as few pieces as possible? I see the rubber mounts at the front core support. And the bolts running along the inner fender towards the rear as well as the under-cab bolt. What else am I missing?

Hey Mikel, anytime in the next few weeks before the 22nd should work for me. I'll be out there pretty much all day tomorow trying to get it all prepped up for plopping in that rear axle. When do you have some free time?

Hey Mikel sent you a PM.

Ok here's where she sits now.

Like I said, we got the bed off yesterday, so today we started in on the front clip. Here's a poser shot for jackstand wheelers anonymous.

My one buddy Joe was over for the morning and we were able to pull the front clip. Then I got the engine and front axle out.

Tomorow I hope to pull the cab and the rest of the drivetrain so that we can then start in on mounting the front and rear axles/leaf springs. I need to get some ubolts made up for my ford 60, as well as rebuild it, but since it only need seals/kingpin kit I plan on doing that while it's on the truck because getting out those kingpins will be a otherwise. Also, I machined the front rotors yesterday or the day before? So the front hubs/rotors/bearings just need some paint and fresh grease and they should be ready to replace the crap that is currently on there.

Here's where she stands right now.

    Default twiggy

Hey everyone. My buddy Will and myself were able to get the cab off today and tonight I was able to get the front axle out along with the rest of the drivetrain. From there I replaced some of the hardware up front on the shackles and plopped my ford 60 under there to test for fit. It looks good so far/pins line up stock and everything. So tomorow I plan to get some U-bolts made for it and hopefully my rear shackles/bushings/brackets will come so that I can start on mounting the rear axle. Otherwise I will just continue on cleaning up the frame and starting pulling apart the front axle for its rebuild.

Will the Chevy 70 work without moving the springs or is it too narrow?
    THANKS Matt
